SPrEE 2009 will be held at the University of Canterbury's Cass Field Station. This is situated 22 km east of Arthur's Pass, on the edge of a 1,600 ha scientific reserve. More information about the Field Station can be found here.
In return for specatular high country scenery and a convivial atmosphere, participants will need to bring a sleeping bag, a pillow case and a towel. Meals will be provided, although participants may be expected to chop vegetables or do dishes. This is definitely a field station, not the Copthorne Hotel!

Cass, as painted by Rita Angus in 1936. It hasn't changed much. |
